Hi everyone,

I hope you are all well and looking forward to returning to Bede Burn on Monday. We have missed you all and can’t wait to see you!

I thought I would write you a little message with some photos to prepare you for returning to school.

Things at school look 👀 different to what they normally do. We can’t have as many children in classes and your classes will be known as ‘bubbles’ when you come back to school. Classrooms look 👀 a little bare as most resources have had to be put away to stop 🛑 the virus 🦠 spreading.

Each morning either Mrs Todd or myself will greet you at your gate and instead of ‘high fives’ or shaking hands we will give you a distancing cuddle. Don’t worry Mrs Todd and I will show you how to do this. We will then take your temperature 🤒 with a special machine. It doesn’t hurt at all and we will ask a mam or dad to let us demonstrate on them to show how it works. If your temperature is fine we will walk you to your bubble door which will be the fire door.

Once inside, your teachers will also greet you with a distancing cuddle. You will have a desk each and a special stationary pack just for you unless you are in reception where you will have special floor spots.

You will start each day with a PSHE lesson. For the first week this will be focussed around lock down and opportunities to ask and explore questions about the virus 🦠 in a child friendly way.

You will then do maths and English and on the afternoon will have a range of activities mostly outdoors.

If you need the toilet 🚽 you will be given a special band and there are special places to hang these. Only one toilet 🚽 cubicle with be open. Your teacher will explains how this will work in Monday.

At lunchtime you will all have a packed lunch and if the weather is sunny ☀️ we will be able to have a bubble picnic 🧺 on the field. Won’t that be fun??

We will need to wash 🧼 our hands 🖐🏻 lots during the day and we have special hand washing stations ready for you in each bubble.

You don’t need to wear your school uniform at the minute but you will need freshly washed clothes each day. We will be outside a lot so old clothes are probably best. You can’t bring a bag 💼 to school but please can you bring a waterproof coat 🧥 and a full water bottle??

We are so excited 😆 to see you all but know things are going to be different for a while.

Have a lovely weekend and we will see you on Monday!

All my love 😍

Mrs Smith
