The majority of Y6 had a wonderful yet very snowy and cold week at our outdoor residential centre on the shores of Coniston Water: Thurston. All children took part in activities such as ghyll-scrambling (yes, really in the icy water); long walks up snow covered mountains; rock-climbing on the indoor climbing wall and canoeing across to the other side of Coniston Water amongst other activities.

Our evenings were filled with games such as hide and seek in the dark and sardines and spending time with old and new friends in the barn.

We had a fantastic time and the behaviour from all was impeccable!

Another wonderful week in the beautiful Lake District: thank you Y6.

  1. Thank you Mrs Todd Mr Macintosh for helping all of the children – learn new skills, overcome personal challenges and make lasting memories.
Do you have any photos from their time at Thurston?
